Remedial Excavation by Bucket Auger

WPI was retained to provide environmental consulting, design engineering, permitting and field construction services to excavate petroleum impacted soil and perform site restoration for pending redevelopment.  Due to the congested urban location in West Los Angeles (adjacent to UCLA campus), a bucket auger system was employed at the site.  The scope of work involved excavating most of the soil from the site down to 40 feet in a staggered method to allow the site to be structurally sound for adjoining heavy vehicle traffic and auger crane.  Traffic and flow planning allowed the project to be completed on schedule and without surrounding are impacts.
